Intimate I is a smaller group course which runs over 3 consecutive Wednesday nights 7-10:00pm. Intimate I is more suitable for couples who are at the stage of their relationships where they want to focus more deeply on the topics covered in Becoming One, and to explore additional themes relevant for their relationship stage.
Couples who may choose Intimate I may have been together for a longer period of time, may have lived together, and may have children together or from previous relationships.
The Intimate I course is based around Dr John Gottman's concept of the Sound Marital House. Topics explored in this course include:
Family of Origin and how it influences our own relationships, and our emotional maturity
Five Love Languages - learning to care deeper for one another
Influences in conflict - the anatomy of couple's disagreements, and impact of gender, personality and family upbringing
Emotional regulation in conflict - mindfulness and other techniques
Speaker-Listener Technique
Roles and Expectations
Values, Rituals and Goals
Creating a Shared Vision
