About EMPATHY

Too many young people face multiple barriers to participation in mainstream activities. These barriers include poverty, lack of opportunities and pathways, isolation, mental health issues, drug and alcohol use, neglect and abuse, literacy and numeracy issues, lack of ID, money management issues and poorly developed living skills. The EMPATHY Program aims to address these issues through establishing the LevelUp Calendar of skills based sessions available to youth across the Inner city, Inner West, South Eastern and South Western regions of Sydney.

The LevelUp Calendar will be tailored to the needs of young people [16 to 25] who face multiple barriers and who are homeless or at risk of homelessness; the sessions will also be flexibly delivered in range of locations. The LevelUp Calendar will be produced on a regular basis and distributed through existing networks to youth services. The sessions will be a mix of engaging activities, core skills development and tertiary courses.
