Student At Risk (STAR) Program

This program is conducted in partnership with the Catholic Education Office, Sydney. The program operates across all Primary schools in the Eastern Region, and Primary and Secondary schools in the Southern Region. The aim of the program is to provide counselling and other supports to students who are ‘at risk’ of their learning being severely disrupted by behavioural or social/emotional issues. Support is also given to families and school personnel. Counsellors offer individual and family counselling, undertake comprehensive assessments and develop specific strategies to support students and teachers. In addition to counselling, STAR Counsellors conduct group programs for students and workshops for parents and school personnel.
